Mariah Goodrich-Jones, Athletic Director
Mrs. Goodrich, as she is known, has been at Mt. Shasta High School for fourteen years - ten years as a teacher, four as a student. One could say she has come full circle – she even teaches in the same classroom where she took math in high school.
In the years between graduating from MSHS and returning as a teacher of Mathematics, she spent some time discovering the world and herself in the Virgin Islands, Mexico, and Michigan. She began her college career at College of the Siskiyous where she played both basketball and soccer before transferring to CSU Chico where she earned a degree in Mathematics as well as a credential. While earning her degree, she worked in the Math Lab tutoring students in all levels of mathematics. She also held an internship teaching math to incoming freshman.
After graduating, she took a position at Happy Camp High School. Although she lacked experience she rebuilt the math department, coached basketball and volleyball and became the Math Department Chair. She transferred to Mt. Shasta High School after three years. She is happily married to a Mt. Shasta native and they have three children: two boys and one girl.
